That was your Accessibility Minute for this week! I’m Laura Medcalf with the INDATA Project at Easterseals Crossroads, in Indiana. I want to take a moment to thank InTRAC the Indiana Telephone Relay Access Corporation for sponsoring our transcript today.
#Does embr wave work series#
The Wave uses a compact thermoelectric heat pump to create a series of cool or warm sensations that you feel on your inner wrist. The Embr Wave 2 delivers the thermal relief on demand that users love, in an even more innovative design. The main idea is that when electric currents flow between different conductors, the transfer of energy causes one side to heat up while the other cools down.

It is a wearable scientifically proven to help you feel cooler or warmer in minutes! The same company now offers a newer model: introducing the Embr Wave 2!Īccording to its description, this second-generation Wave uses temperature sensations to help you find “relief, gain comfort, and give you more control over your life.” How Does Embr Wave Work The Embr Wave operates through the Peltier Effect, a phenomenon discovered by 19th-century French physicist Jean Charles Athanase Peltier. I wrote about the original Embr Wave back in 2018. Many individuals have a hard time regulating their body temperature some people are always freezing, while others can overheat easily. I was hype when I first read about it, but after testing it for some time and getting feedback, that hype quickly vanished.Hey there! Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly look at Assistive Technology, those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs! It’s a novel approach with an interesting concept that doesn’t deliver on its promises. I would stick with grabbing a nice throw blanket for those chilly nights while making use of the air conditioner when those warm sunny days are hitting you. The Embr Wave is $249 for, which you could spend money on something else that’ll provide you more benefits. I wasn’t sure what this product was supposed to solve. It made me feel a slight coolness on my wrist but did not radiate through my body. I was hoping the Embr Wave would cool me down and regulate my sweat - but it did next to nothing. It did little to warm me up when it was cold and damp.

It could not prevent shivers in cold office air or cool me down when I walked up four flights of stairs. Designed from the ground up to unlock the power of personalized thermal sensations, Embr Wave precisely cools or warms the temperature-sensitive skin on your wrist to help you feel 5 degrees cooler. The Wave delivers precisely engineered patterns of temperature sensations to bring fast, full-body menopause symptom relief just by cooling or warming the sensitive skin of your inner wrist.

The Embr Wave didn’t do anything except to cool down the surrounding area somewhat. Embr Wave works with your body, harnessing its natural ability to regulate itself in response to cyclic changes in temperature. I thought the temperature change was small. However, this product claims to use “cutting edge technology” to enable users to control the temperature of their bodies. It comes out as the world’s most sophisticated wearable device. It claims to have a “never-before-seen level of control” over your body’s temperature. The Embr Wave is more than just an electronic bracelet that warms or cools your body at random. This way, they would have no bias, and I could get a real-world feel. I also did the same thing on an unsuspecting participant by telling them it would simply heat up and cool down. I wore it on and off to see if it could keep me cool in the heat or warm me up when I’m cold. I tested the Embr Wave for days to see whether it worked as advertised.
